Installation: Insomnia, Dreams, Memories (2017-18). Viewed as digital images, the photographs ask viewers consider the liminal moment when you wake before you are ready: when the world is quiet, but one’s mind churns. Photography by Julia Margaret Cameron and Julie Blackmon–more than a century apart–serve as influences. I’ve long enjoyed the soft focus and romanticism of Cameron’s tableaux. Blackmon’s poignant domestic scenes give me confidence to turn to mine. The photographs offer a sequence; they should be viewed together, rather than individually.
Samples of photographic works (2013-17): concentrate on color, texture, landscapes, architecture.
